Here we are going to give you an idea of pricing for tree removal. No one has any prices listed like this. Take your time to read through everything then call me and let’s get you on the schedule.
Small Tree Removal Price
Pictured here on the left or above if you are on a mobile phone, there is a small tree under 20 feet with a thin trunk. It’s close to the house but it’s too light to damage the siding. There are plants and bushes below, they could easily get damaged if we drop branches on them. The grass is manicured so we can’t drive a machine close to the tree to move it once we cut it. This means we have to carry it by hand to the truck. Cost for this tree to be removed would be about $400. Why, Well I have to send 2 guys and a diesel pickup truck. After they drive to your house, take out the tree and load it, they have to clean up the sticks and leaves, shred it and dump the chips then head to the next job. Maybe 3-hours total time plus fuel, salary, and insurance. If you have several small trees to remove at the same time, then the price per tree goes down. For instance, if you have 3 of these small trees, I’d charge $550 to remove all of them as long as it was all done on that same trip out to your house.
Medium Tree Removal Price
This tree pictured here on the left or above if you are on a phone, is a medium sized tree and it’s leaning towards the house. We would use our bucket truck to remove this tree, that will keep the house safe from the tree falling on it. We can start cutting up top first and remove the danger immediately. In the case of manicured grass, we would put down plywood so that it doesn’t get torn up by the tires of the bucket truck. This tree’s trunk is likely about 15 inches across at the bottom of the tree (for size reference). There are nice hedges near the tree. I would be cautious not to damage them with falling limbs, this takes time because we have to cut them into smaller sections so that we can control where we drop them, or we have to use rigging rope to ease the branches down. My ground crew will then load them onto the trailer or into the chipper. The tree trunk will get chunked down until it is 10 feet long or less. Then we will use the track loader to remove the trunk and load it into our trucks or chipper. It is too heavy to move by hand. After that we have to clean up the ground, leaves and tiny sticks will be all over the yard, this will take 3 people about 45 minutes. Next, we haul away what’s left of the tree, this job costs about $1,200 to $1,500. Variables that could elevate the price are power lines nearby, fences or yard ornaments, etc. We have to repair or replace those items if we damage them, avoiding them adds time to the job so we charge more money when there are risks or obstacles to work around. Also, trees in the rear yard can be more costly because access to the rear yard may be limited for the equipment because of narrow paths or sheds and fences. In this situation you can still get a multi tree discount but because the tree is pretty large the second tree may not fit on the trucks so we may have to dump and return to the site, that can affect the price as well.
Price To Remove A Large Tree
The large tree here to the right of the screen or above if you’re on mobile is close to the house and some of the branches will have to be gently rigged down. The trunk is large and the tree branches are very wide. This tree would cost approximately $3,500 to remove. There is a lot of volume here, many branches and leaves. Lots of clean-up work. This tree will likely take one full day with multiple truck loads being hauled and 5 people working on this tree simultaneously. There is what looks to be a blue spruce pine below it and to the right. That tree could easily get damaged. Some of the branches on this tree weigh well over 1,000 pounds. Care has to be taken when working down a tree this size. We would use our track loader to load the big pieces into the trucks. With so many trips over the front yard we may have to seed and straw the grass if it got damaged or cover it with plywood so we could drive over it multiple times with the loader. These trees don’t look big until you get it all down on the ground, then you see how much tree is really there. Some people want us to cut the tree down and leave it all there. We have a better price for that. When we cut a tree up and leave it there the chunks are still pretty large and difficult to remove. I don’t advise doing it yourself however, if that’s what you want you can save about $1200-$1500. As always powerlines, yard ornaments, sheds, houses, fences, and other obstructions will raise the price. If this tree was in an open field that would of course lower the price.
